Water Bottle Sort

Pour, sort, and pick up exactly where you stopped.

A water-sorting puzzle with hand-drawn art, liquid that actually pours, and progress that follows the player. It shares the Cegat Tabrak account and cloud save, so a puzzle survives a reinstall or a new phone.

The problem
Casual puzzle players lose progress when they reinstall or switch phones.
What I built
A Unity water-sort puzzle with smooth pours, free helpers, and cloud save on a shared account.
What it enables
Players continue the exact puzzle they left, on any device, without paying to get unstuck.
Feature highlights
  • Real pour animation, even two at once
  • Undo, hint, restart & a free extra bottle
  • Shared account & cloud save

What I did

I designed and built this project from start to finish.

My implementation scope
  • Puzzle design & level generation
  • Unity pour rendering
  • Accounts & cloud save

How the main flow works

  1. 01

    Continue from the saved level

  2. 02

Select a bottle, then a target

  3. 03

Undo, hint, or add a bottle

  4. 04

    Clear the level, save, next

Proof of the work

What was built, how it works, and why it was built that way.

01 / Real screen & code

Progress that survives anything

Saves are uploaded with a revision and digest. A stale write is rejected, and a retried request with the same identity is applied only once.

Technical decision

An app upgrade or a lost connection returns the player to the exact puzzle, down to the move count, on the same account as Cegat Tabrak.

02 / Real screen & code

Pours that run in parallel

Each pour is its own animation with reserved space in the target bottle, so two pours can overlap without double-filling.

Technical decision

The player never has to wait for an animation before making the next move.

About these screens

Screens come from Android QA builds 0.8.10 to 0.8.14. The row with test-reward controls is cropped out; rewards are not active in any public build.

Core purpose

A calm puzzle game: sort the coloured water so each bottle holds one colour. Hand-drawn art, liquid that actually pours, and progress that follows the player across reinstalls and phones.

Feature highlights

  • Real pour animation, even two at once

The walkthrough

Pick a bottle, then the destination

Tap a bottle to lift it, then tap where it should pour. Only the top colour moves, and only onto the same colour or an empty bottle.

Water that actually pours

Bottles tilt and the liquid flows into the target. Two pours can run at the same time.

Stuck? Add a bottle

On dense boards an extra bottle slides in without reshuffling the rest. Every helper is free.

Boards that grow with you

Later levels add more colours and a third row while keeping every bottle easy to tap.

A tutorial that moves

Five animated steps explain the rules with real bottles.

How it is built

Unity with URP for Android. Saves carry a revision and digest, so stale writes are rejected and retried requests apply only once; an app upgrade returns the player to the exact puzzle and move count. The account is shared with Cegat Tabrak. The screens come from Android QA builds, with the test-reward row cropped out.
